Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

New stable version for hardy

TESTCASE

that's a stable update from upstream, there is no launchpad bug known to be fixed there though so the testcase is to make sure the clock applet still works correctly, things to try:
- add some locations
- click on the set button next to the locations to change you timezone and make sure /etc/timezone and the clock are correctly updated
- look if the locations lists, the tasks etc are still correct

The corresponding NEWS

================
Version 2.22.1.3
================

  Clock Applet

 * Fix internal handling of locations to not create new locations all
   the time. As a side-effect, this fixes the location not being
   recognized as the current one when the user clicks "Set" (Vincent)
 * Improve pre-filling of the find entry (Vincent)
 * Be more solid against cases where there's no Locations.xml (Vincent)
 * Better handling of some special cases when detecting the system
   timezone (like /usr/share/zoneinfo/posix/Europe/Paris) (Vincent)
 * Fix memory leaks (Vincent)
 * First look if /etc/localtime is a symbolic link when detecting the
   current timezone instead of first parsing a few files (Vincent)
 * Add support for Arch Linux system timezone (Vincent)
 * Fix a crash in the system timezone reading/writing code on 64-bits
   machines (Vincent)

  Misc

 * Add new keys to gnome-panel.desktop to also make it work with
   gnome-session 2.23/2.24. The panel will still work with gnome-session
   2.22, of course. (Lucas Rocha)

Since some of the changes were already there as patches, what's the effective diff now? Any test case for this?

I've updated the description with a testcase, which is basically making sure that the clock applet still works correctly. The patches dropped were svn backports so they are in the new version, I can do a debdiff without those changes if you want to show the actual changeset in the update

I've tested the new version for about ~20 minutes and everything is ok, also went trough the test case, if you change your timezone it gets reflected on /etc/timezone and the appointments are updated accordly, same goes for the locations dialog, All looking fine.
