Firefox meta and language-support-en conflict

Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Versions:
 language-support-en: 1:7.04+20070209
 firefox(meta package): 3.0~b3+nobinonly-0ubuntu1

The firefox meta package lists mozilla-firefox-locale-en-gb 2.0.0.7+1-0ubuntu2 as
a conflict. However, the version of language-support-en listed above has this
version of mozilla-firefox-locale-en-gb listed as a dependency(according to
aptitude, and apparently synaptic to), so the firefox meta package is removed
when you try to install the language-support-en package. If you install the firefox
meta package anyway, then the language-support-en package is removed and
the English locale packages are no longer 'required', and thus removed(unless
manually installed).

Is this the desired effect, or did something go seriously wrong in the dependencies?

Ubuntu version:
>super@nobu-desktop:~$ cat /etc/lsb-release
>DISTRIB_ID=Ubuntu
>DISTRIB_RELEASE=8.04
>DISTRIB_CODENAME=hardy
>DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu hardy (development branch)"

Seems the conflict has been fixed since early today or yesterday.
Firefox is happily installed next to language-support-en and firefox-locale-en-gb. ^.^

Sorry but Firefox-2 is getting near EOS and they wont be fixing anything but major issues security issues mainly. Please try to reproduce this with Firefox-3.0 if you can reproduce this bug please click on Help > Report a problem and file the bug that way. This does not mean that it wasn't already fixed.

This bug report isn't even for Firefox-2; the only thing related to it is mozilla-firefox-locale-en-gb 2.0.0.7+1-0ubuntu2, which was required by some package.

As stated in a previous comment, this bug has been fixed already. If it hasn't then that's news to me. Thanks for closing the bug, anyway.

Revided the package name to view the ral package.
Closing bug as its not a bug.
As for the locales those are only for ff2 for ff3 locales they are now in language-pack-gnome

At the time, that source package would not be correct because it was the firefox (meta)package that "lists mozilla-firefox-locale-en-gb 2.0.0.7+1-0ubuntu2 as
a conflict". That, and in the description of the firefox package, it says,

>This is a meta package that will point to the latest firefox package in ubuntu.

(Currently firefox-3, right?)

The "bug"(apparently it's not, but it was a problem that needed to be addressed at the time by a package maintainer) was in the dependencies of either the firefox (meta)package, not the firefox-3 package, or the language-support-en (meta)package. The problem being either language support or the firefox (meta)package would have to be removed(which is not recommended in the description quoted above).

But I guess it doesn't really matter anymore, since it has resolved itself somehow.
