Release page has a changelog field but it's not displayed anywhere

Specifically, this is on +addrelease as in https://edge.launchpad.net/launchpad/1.2/+addrelease

If we want to further display it, we would need to modify +edit (so it can be changed) and the series overview page to actually display the contents.

I'm not convinced this field, and the effort to display it, is worthwhile at this time.

Well, the release itself has a page. And offering it for editing on
+edit is pretty easy. However, it may be that product announcements have
obsoleted this. Or maybe the ChangeLog field could be the default text
for a product announcement.

I think that the detailed changelog is a useful thing to have attached
to a release, and visible on the release page. As I understand it
it's probably too detailed to be in the announcement. As Kiko says,
just adding the fields in the place where they should be present
should be easy.

There is some double-handling in needing to make a release on
Launchpad and then separately create an announcement. But that's a
separate enhancement.

When we show a facility to users that doesn't actually work it disappoints or confuses them.

The changelog field is like this because we invite RMs to paste in their changelog, but it is not visible to anyone but the project owner.

It's true people can learn to use the description instead, as in <https://launchpad.net/bzr/1.2/1.2>. But this is poorly suited to the typical contents of a changelog, which is long and wants to be shown as preformatted text. So on that page the list of download files is pushed below the fold.

It would be better to have a link to see the changelog.

This was actually fixed in 2.2.6
